Re: 76 Baseball Unopened Wax in PSA

Just two weeks ago I had an hour long phone conversation with a person from Allentown, Pa who has an extensive vintage unopened collection that he purchased new back in the early 70's. Too bad this guy lives in PA, LOL...all the scammers out of there have given any legit collectors a bad name through no fault of their own.. -
Re: SOme advice
I would check your Paypal invoice for the buyers name and State, then through the Set Registry and new additions to their sets track their purchases online and see if anything matches your original buyer. It would be great to nail someone but the guy would probably not wait 3 years to register it if he was the scammer and… -
Re: Regrade for a Genuine --Cleaned Details coin
here is another "grey area" of numismatics, it is perfectly acceptable to crack a coin from a genny holder and resubmit it, but sell it (with big clear pics) on ebay in a problem holder and someone will start a thread claiming you are a low life scammer for deceiving people, i wish some one would clarify who has the magic… -
Re: Is it safe to list on Ebay now?

<< <i>Is it safe to list on Ebay now? >> The scams seem to be proliferating according to the feepay forums. Most of the targets seem to be lower feedback sellers. One story was that a scammer returned to the seller a pamphlet about avoiding scams on feepay rather than the item sent. There's a saying on the feepay forums… -
Re: The Most "Trustworthy" eBay Listing Ever
You'd think they could at least come up with a more original story. I like to read entertaining - tragic or funny stories for this kind of "stuff" on eBay. "I need the money to pay for my nursing school!" Come on, not very heartbreaking. The Nigerian scammers can write better, real tear jerking heartbreakers, on their off… -
Re: The Unopened Market has Sunk to New Depths...
<< <i>Good work. Unfortunately my guess is it would not be hard to duplicate the current BBCE shrink wrap. Or are they using something in addition to that to mark their boxes? >> I am not sure, that would be a question for Steve Hart. Unfortunately, anything can be copied if someone is determined enough. The new shrink… -
Re: Lighthouse label print off center?
A quick glance at completed listings and there are a handful in the $20 range and a few more in the $26 range. The scammers go after cards like Jordan and Gretzky and Mantle. Not 87 Topps. Many of the scams are in fake holders or one's with frosted edges. If we get to the point where you have to worry about $10 in this… -
Re: Just won one of my dream cards on eBay, but........
Why does not having Paypal concern you? If the guy is going to scam you circumventing PayPal's "Buyer Protection" wouldn't stop him As it is, mailing a USPS Money Order seems like a relatively small hassle for a card as nice as that one. If he is a scammer knowing his address and having the USPS behind you seems like as… -
Re: Very suspicious Ebay activity: ATTENTION Ebay police!
<< <i>AVOID second chance offers from coin auctions; unless you personally know the seller; and know where your payment is going? >> That is probably the best advice. The communications this scammer is using are very authentic looking, chock full of ebay logos, square trade logos, buyer protection guarantees, etc.… -
Re: Ever buy from seller w/private feedback?
What's even more suspicious is when both the seller and the auction are private. Then you can't see that the other "bids" are shills from accounts with no feedback history. I can see why someone would want to keep his purchase prices private. But since scammers also use that to conceal the fact that they have never sold a…
