Re: Deal on the BST gone wrong **avenue7 is the userid**
<< <i> << <i>Totally sucks. One thing that I have done is, unless it is a low amount, I don't buy from new folks (sorry). I particularly watch and see if the seller participates on the coin forums or only the BST. >> It sucks but what can one do aside from take the right steps to rectify it. I'm sure I'll have my money… -
Re: HCGS - Hallmark Third party grading service trainwreck

<< <i> << <i>I've spoke w/ eBay about these crappy Third World Slabs and I am working w/eBay to help tackle this issue. >> This is a very worthwhile goal. Good luck with it! Will this this effort include slabs of all worlds that have inserts considered misleading by the US Government/Mint? >> I trying to convince them to… -
Re: I thought this was the U.S. Coin Forum ? ............
part of the value of this forum is knowing about scammers on ebay. An excellent example being last weeks thread where TDN won a bid on a trade dollar HE knew was fake. He bid on it in order to keeping anyone else getting burned on it for $10K, then he neged the seller. He saw in the coin what 99% of buyers might not have… -
Re: My bad experience with seller blp_grlg
This thief should be locked up! I've been one of the first to try and discourage anyone from buying anything "unopened" from this guy. No wonder "she" doesn't accept Paypal payments over $100 and hosts private auctions. I'm very sorry to hear you got screwed by this thief. I'd recommend obtaining her contact info & demand… -
Re: eBay Etiquette Question
If you leave him a negative feedback... just brace yourself the 'Retaliatory Negative Feedback' Ebay proudly proclaims that they refuse to investigate 'Retaliatory Negative' and it, along with the privet auction, are the two most utilized tools of the EBay scammers. My girlfriend sold a RAM chip a month back, the 'hidden… -
Re: Just got this response from ebay seller...
Well, if I still wanted the coin and his feedback doesn't make you suspect a scammer, I'd take him at his word and ask him to ship. He's clearly responded, albeit late, and offered a refund. I would ask for a delivery confirmation number as soon as he ships, and within a day or two see if that number corresponds to a… -
Re: Does any one else find this strange
Sorry, I meant all the T206's were 5's. 100 cards ending all with in 1 day ans some pretty impressive stuff. Could well be his whole collection. But could be a sophisitcated scammer who knows super high end cards will raise too many red flags. As we get smarter spotting them, thet have to get smarter trying to disquise… -
Re: 10% eBay Bucks for items $25+, 8% everything else
Hey countdouglas, I would double-check with eBay if that offer is legitimate or not. I received an email allegedly from eBay about an hour ago saying the same thing. However, when I looked in my eBay inbox, the Bucks offer was not there. So I just chatted online with eBay (I'm a Concierge member; it's one of the benefits),… -
Re: offering a bribe in exchange for positive feedback
Buying and selling on ebay seems to me to be too confrontational. It's a hobby we should enjoy. There is no reason to ridicule others in a public forum for what are at most minor irritations. Many don't like being asked for feedback but it happens and has been pointed out perhaps for good reason. I constantly read sellers… -
Re: Unopened proof sets, scam?
too many of us have bought Proof Sets advertised as "unopened" and scored for it to be OK for those who don't play the game to say that it's all just a scam. i currently have stuff listed in my sig-line which is 100% legitimate, never opened and never searched. certainly there are scammers who check and reseal, but there…
