Re: Misunderstanding with eBay Power Seller... RESOLVED!!!
Glad to see you're working it out and that he seems to be a stand-up guy about it. Might I suggest changing the subject line to reflect this? If you're convinced now that he's not a ripoff artist, why give someone new to the thread the idea that he is? If they don't read the whole thread, they might think he's scammer even… -
Re: Sealed boxed Proof Sets. Would you open them?
You have 320+sets. The 60's series are less collectable than the 50's. If you are going to flip them, you will have to know these aren't from a scammer. You have multiples. Randomly select a couple and open them. That way your own liability will be limited and you can verify that the sets are there and blemish free Bob Sr… -
Re: Yes another eBay question...

<< <i>Yep ... rude. And if they indeed doctored your photos they are not only rude, but dishonest. IMO you have been used. You might consider blocking both of their eBay ID ... integrity is worth more than a few bucks. >> This.^ Lots of images get stolen on Ebay, often by scammers... I'd notify Ebay that this guy not only… -
Re: another zero feedback ebay seller with high-value coins
Follow-up: Recent feedback comments reveal the seller was indeed an attempted scammer, most likely unaware his Paypal receipts would be held back until after he completed delivery and received positive feedback. His one positive feedback obtained from the purported local sale of a cheap baseball card was clearly provided… -
Re: Fake 1956 Mantle Psa 8???
The Mantle in the bad holder is relisted, I was just looking at his other auctions and noticed his 33 goudey 144 babe ruth GAI 2.5 has some writing on front. Looks like somebody drew a smile on the Babe's face. Yet the seller brags "that the card was carefully protected for many decades by a knowledgeable collector. ".… -
Re: This is the kind of thing that would make me go postal on an eBay seller!!!
For the hell of it i looked at this guys feedback, of course he made 1 prior sale (to a low feedback) buyer. I then looked at the low feedbacked buyer and of course the scammer seller and thelow feedback 'buyer' both bought from the same sellers. I bet if I could check I'd see bizlawguy bid on his Jordan 'picture' too.… -
Re: Neg victoriously
Because virtually ALL new sellers will have their PayPal funds held for 21-days, buyers will be at little risk. The newest/pending crop of Mantle scamsters should be out of business. We will see more and more "reputable" sellers offering junk Mantles that were purchased wholesale from scammers. Many sellers cannot even… -
Re: eBay and online scams
This thread mentions what may be an example of a scam that's gotten pretty common lately: a person steals a picture of a coin from a dealer website, and puts it up on eBay. Often the scammers trip themselves up by choosing a coin that is too scarce or attractive (and therefore recognizable). I don't really need to bring up… -
Re: 1964 Topps Stand Up Roberto Clemente Recolored
never said we were dealing in absolutes. its pretty easy to tell when any newer ink is applied to an older card. now there certainly are exceptions and those professionals that restore books and classic paintings obviously. but for your standard scammer filing in ‘71 corners or ‘79 fisheyes w your typical markers/paint… -
I will be dealing with Heritage...
and PCGS if for no other reason than that MBT won't. That's good enough for me. I am going to up all of my Heritage bids by 50% and send all of my coins to PCGS to be crossed and/or regraded at the most expensive tier. Heck, I am even going to consign some material to the Savannah Scammer, even though I know that only…
