My thoughts on the 1870-S Half Dime, Silver Dollars, and Three Dollar Gold
As many know, the coins referenced in the title of this thread are some of the most enigmatic in all of American numismatics. The San Francisco Mint made no records of their production and the coins were unknown for decades. How did they come to exist? My theory: these were souvenir pieces requested by attendees of the… -
Re: Why so many quarter programs lately?
Congress NONE of the quarter programs came from the mint. It's a geometric progression... The original Fifty State Quarter program was a circulating commemorative program and included an educational mission. It was very successful. The follow-on, America The Beautiful (ATB) program didn't include education, and - surprise,… -
Re: Dan Carrs latest
3 Declaration of Independence remain in my HSN cart 5-24-26, 308 pm. When launch price on May 22 was live I had 3 separate $5.50 shipping fees = $16.50. Ultimately, I did not order any of these HSN Mikes for a few reasons INCLUDING NO SALES TO COLORADO I guess I watched and rewatched 14 presentations which took maybe 3&1/2… -
Re: When did people stop using Beckett?
Awesome... you can still get unread older becketts from like 1990 on for basically the same price as two years ago on ebay... That Beckett #1 I think is kinda like a grail of sorts... Purchased it as NGC 62… -

FS: Historic American Currency Sterling Silver Banknote Series #1

I am putting this listing here since maybe currency folks might want some silver to put away. This is a Sterling silver currency note reproduction from the archives of the American Banknote Company. The set of 6, of which this is number 1, was made in the 1970s and most have probably been melted in the big 1980 silver… -
