1904-O Morgan die break - Update 11/13/05
Can anyone identify the VAM# of this coin, and does the die break mean anything in the VAM numbering, or is that limited to 1921 Morgans. There is a break off the right side of the first T in states and I've included a photo of a small dot type break along a die crack above the mintmark. The loop of the 9 in the date is… -

Among them was an 1891-O VAM-15A (R-7) in PCGS 63; 1900-O VAM-41A (R-6) in PCGS 64, and a 1921-D VAM-10A (R-6) in PCGS 64. The ones I am sending have quite a few really cool… -

Re: Is the 1900-O/CC M.D. considered part of the CC family...
The 1900 O/CC coins were struck from 5 reverse dies that were shipped from Carson City to Philadelphia when the Carson City mint closed. Philly re-engraved the O mint mark on the 5 dies and shipped them to New Orleans in 1900 and hence we got the O/CC coins! The neat thing is that quite a few interesting things developed… -
Re: Edward I penny?
Something like that would be useful indeed. Line drawing exist in say the Coincraft for hammered material showing lettering position and crown details that might be illegible on a photo of a piece itself. Although as i'm sure you can appreciate marrying up what you see on a sketch and the photos of most classes that are… -

Re: Do you know where every coin in your collection came from???
No. 99% of them I do. However, when cherrypicking a bourse and negotiating package deals for groups of coins, it occasionally becomes difficult to recall exactly which ones were from whom and what the price for the deal was. I generally figure it all out pretty well. Only one coin remains that I am stuck on. It was an… -
