Re: Gas up ASAP.
<< <i>I catch hell for driving a V-8 Caddy even though the six speed tranny gives me 35+ miles to the gallon while cruising. >> I hope you're showing them the back side of your pimp hand for that nonsense. I park my truck next to the e-vehicle charging spots at work to say 'thanks for not using my gas'. -
Re: Hopefully our Summer Seminar folks aren't affected by the wildfires!
Not in Colorado Springs, but from what I hear the fire is in the hills, you can see the smoke from the city. There are housing developments up in the hills that have been evacuated, and some tourist spots like Garden of the Gods, that have been closed. Not affecting the town. I can see the smoke from the High Park Fire… -
Re: ASE for Sale. Trades?
I would buy these at $1 over spot which is (23.78)=495.60 per roll. HOWEVER: Since you arefairly new, you would have to send them to me first. I can provide you with 40 to 50 members of this forum that I have dealt with. I need 25 Rolls, have you got 'em? Are they run of the mill? What's the conditiomn of these SAE's? -

Re: Raw Coins...I'm Done withThem
<< <i>So many people so completely miss the whole point... Numismatics is a study. If you're not willing to study and learn - LEAVE. It's that simple. Cleaning, polishing, dipping, doctoring coins is all detectable, and without a whole heck of a lot of effort. Third party grading services are a marketing tool and shouldn't… -
Re: A beautiful Libertas

<< <i>Ahhhhhhhh, there it is. Never gets old cardinal, thanks for re-posting it. I'm a bit confused I see re-strikes from 1976, 2004 and 2006. Is one date better than the other? >> Depending on what you are looking for, there are a number of options for the restrikes. Here's a display of the different issues I've put… -
Re: J.R. DOLAN

Wow, a thread with my name as the title. One way to make sure I don't miss it! As you guys know, that PSA 10 Deckle was on eBay before at $1350 without a bid. Before that it was on NAXCOM at $1650. I almost didn't bid this time, thinking it would come back up in a few weeks at $1000. Then I thought, when that happens I… -
Re: Romo shows his true colors....yet again!
<< <i>In the Denver game Romo played fantastic and his stellar performance was the reason why Dallas was in the game (tied 48-48 with less than 3 minutes to go in the game with Dallas having the ball and starting a drive that would have allowed it to win the game with a field goal kicked with a second or two left in the… -
Re: An example of why modern collecting is very volatile...

<< <i>What concerns me is that someone might actually pay $7500 for it. >> RYK, One also has to consider the value of time. I love hunting these things and have the time to do it. Not everyone enjoys the hunt, and most don't have as much screwing around time as I do. To illustrate, let's take the specific example of the… -
Re: Error Coinage Stolen At Mint
I was still a Federal employee only a couple years ago and I would've been fired on the spot for just lying about my mileage...I need a part time job at the mint as I approach retirement, I'm only about 5 miles away lol! I'm not looking to be a thief, but the culture there seems kinda casual. Maybe I could do some…
