An honest eBay seller!
Seems like we (myself included) like to point out deceivers and scammers on eBay but I just ran across this 57 Campy on eBay. Read his honest assessment. Would this be the classic case of buying the card and not the holder? -

buyer for the most part. not as easy as ebay but still fairly easy. but they flag too. repeat scammers will get the boot. but the real answer is the backing financial institute used to fund said purchase. they are at their mercy. -

I think JBR is saying that one possibility is that somebody else was selling a card in a fake holder, with a fake label with the same Cert # as your card. One way to out the scammer is to try to add the (duplicate) Cert number to one’s registry. -

I don't mind at all if 1 day auctions go away. They are frequently a tool of scammers who list fraudulent items with short durations in hopes of attracting a buyer without attracting eBay's attention or ability to respond quickly enough. -

If they're the miller boys who sell autographs in PA, it's sometimes a risk to buy things like that from PA dealers. Seems like there's lots of scammers here. Not sure why but maybe the ones here just get caught more. -

Typical scammer. Built feedback with $2-5 items. Now he/she has multiple higher dollar sets available including 2 NRMT/MT 1975 Topps baseball sets and a 1962 Topps football set. Linky -
Re: Picked up a cool silver bar today.
I noticed that. It looks like wax or plastic. When the price of silver was much higher scammers would hollow out the larger silver bars and then fill the cavity with another metal and then seal the end. I hope that didn't happen with this bar. -

Well I'm a collector and I buy from the mint. I'm not sure Bear it favors me after seeing some of the new prices. These people are driving up the cost of doing bussiness just as insurance scammers do to the people that are honest. -

I have received a couple of scam emails "from Paypal" with my full name in them. I used to sell a lot of stuff on Ebay and I suspect one of my customers sold my name and email address to scammers. -

This is a good thing for collectors and I do not feel bad for the TV scammers. I have two addresses, two cards and employees who love cash. Put me in for 5 of each. I am bringing my A game to this one.
