Coins & Currency in everyday transactions
I'm a Boomer. And though I am comfortable with Windows, MS Office, the Internet, and the like, I am not one of those "Early-Adopters" or up-to-speed with technology, especially all the latest in TV/streaming, social media, car display screens/options, and all the latest digital payment formats. For when it comes to buying… -
Re: Let's design the four year course requirements to receive a BS in numismatics.
I'm envisioning this as more of a US-Based degree, highly focusing on US coinage, with an elective path of a world coin area of interest. I think there is enough coin-related courses you can put in there to not even have room for history and languages, etc - in my pretend world, those are rolled into the courses, not on… -

Re: I remember when I was a kid growing up in Missouri, late 60's - early 70's, we could buy Morgan doll
I got into coins as a teen at about the same time (mid-70's). Our local coin shop had two silver dollar 'junk' boxes to choose from. The $2.99 box had Morgan and Peace dollars with holes, rim dings, or just plain worn out (VF or less). The $3.99 box had pretty nice common date silver dollars XF/AU usually -- but a few… -

<< <i>I just find it funny that some people cheer gold to go higher, higher, higher.... They make a few bucks while the economy tanks and the stock market is in free fall. Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees. Let's talk about context. On the face of it, higher gold means bad news for the majority of Americans.… -
Re: When will Gold drop below $900 an oz or Plat drop below $1700 an oz?
Yea, I went though 1980 and this isn't it my friend. Same ole story "a correction" and the sky is falling or a spike and it's going to $2000. Gold will pick up in the fall as usual I just wish the M3 was still reported I think we may get a few answers from it and that's why it's no longer done. You can link to my "stats"… -

Re: Rare coin market under threat
I do lab work for a living. I have to decontam, scrub up, and donning/doffing PPE and all that fun stuff, as to be able to proceed with culture work. Culture work is when you take agar agar, a type of seaweed gelatin, add sugars or malt extracts and grow molds, bacteria, fungi. Viruses do not grow on this because they are… -
Re: Doom and Gloomers read this ....the Real Story.
I skimmed the article quickly and saw the names of Friedman, Bernanke, Geithner, Duke, etc.....figured this would be a Treasury/FED-centric view (ie not reality). They wear their own style of tin-foil hats - USG approved of course. The biggest bull market in history could easily be followed by one of the bigger bear…
