Re: Capitol Coin Robbery, Washington, DC

<< <i>It seems like coin theft like this never ends. Is it always this frequent??? I am fairly new here but I feel like I am hearing of someone getting robbed every week or so >> Yes there have been a lot of recent reports. Everyone must be very vigilant/careful. For the individuals out there....be careful what you… -
Re: Gentlemen , The Queen

Thanks Lord M , ive never had a you suck , did i mention theres two of them ? Both in the same condition, the other being 1878. I thought it would be the African coins that were scarce , id heard the 1920 florin is and more so with the A mintmark which mine doesnt have. I think your right i do need to get a krause and ive… -
Re: Coin collectors are absolutely insane

Sometimes you feel like the "point" is zooming off into space. I collect moderns too, but I wouldn't pay $2000 bucks for a 2000 something quarter regardless of the intentional or unintentional error caused by a mint employee. To me that falls outside of my collecting horizon and obviously I am not the only person that… -
Re: Gem DMPL Morgans Going to Japan??????
<< <i>When you eliminate the common dates, there simply are not a lot of 66 dmpls to go around. >> And the 84-CC is about #2 or #3 as the most common above gem DMPL, with only the 80-S clearly being more common. There are about 100 really nice ones out there. It's a commodity coin. Someone could corner the market in them… -
Re: Ever bought a cheap coin from someone while they were under the influence?
<< <i>I'm really sorry you feel that way. However, not everybody is an alcoholic. Here's a good illustration by Aesop, if you aren't familliar with it already. A Man and his son were once going with their Donkey to market. As they were walking along by its side a countryman passed them and said: "You fools, what is a… -
Re: What do you do for a living? (2022 Edition)
Facts: Anyone who is even slightly effected by the words of a complete stranger on a public chat board need to reevaluate their lives. Seriously. Who am i to you? What are my beliefs to you? Absolutely nothing. You need to look at your spouse, you kids, your grandkids, and really think. If my silly words effect you, you've… -
Re: Why newer cards suck
From an investment standpoint, I think it is a perfectly valid argument to say that modern cards don't measure up to vintage. It remains to be seen which cards/sets from the last decade (if any) emerge as desirable to collectors over the years. Fine. The evidence does show that from an "investment" standpoint vintage cards… -
Re: Very nice IH crossover from NGC 66RD to PCGS 66RD

Paul: You are surely correct when you say both pictures suck. But I think it's fair to say the first picture is the suckier of the two. More seriously, how in the world did you manage to find this coin? (And all the others you find!) You must have one heck of a memory! P.S.: My question how you accomplished this feat is… -
Re: Thoughts on $100 to $200 cards
Bottom line be sure you do get them PSA graded so you don't accidentally end up with trimmed or tiny crease or recolored or whatnot cards. I mean can you imagine how much that'd really suck to get a card you think is totally flawless, send it to grading and it comes back as a PSA 5 because they found an itty bitty little…
