Re: PCGS mint error listed on holder of dropped letter quarter
Runaway R, We've got a runaway R!!! That's a very cool error coin. If I'm not mistaken, these are caused by grease or some other foreign material getting compressed into the die, then falling out and creating the incuse impression on the next strike. Does that mean the strike prior to it falling out might appear as a… -
Re: The life of a mass produced modern in top pop condition rarity
I have learned that if there is something (modern) I want in top condition, wait. It should come down to reasonable levels in time. I have the different Alaska quarters in top pops but I waited for the hype and the price to fall to what I considered reasonable for a modern. The pops will increase, demand will not be as… -
What is the best 2004 Football Box?
Now that training camp is approaching, I'm starting to get the football itch. I didn't buy too many boxes last fall and was surprised how many different products came out last fall. I was thinking about SP Authentic, SPX, Contenders, or Leaf Limited. Anyone have opinion what is the best product to buy? I want to stay away… -
Re: We are in a Mild Worldwide Deflation...Be Careful!
"""The falling interest rates and falling equity prices indicate that we may well have reached a tipping point. In that case, low rates are not enough to sustain equity prices at triple their level in March 2009.""" Good perspective, especially if dividends get cut, going forward. As low rates could not hold gold above… -
Re: WHAT A PRICE! - Roger Staubach - 1972 PSA "10" - Mile High Auction
<< <i>UI think the consignor paid more than that for it the first time around. he did double his money on the havlicek. don't think the money was really an issue either way >> I'm pretty sure the consignor bought it in the Fall 2005 auction for $22k. I know the Fight4OldDC Staubach sold for considerably less. Mile High… -
Re: minnesota extra tree quarter on ebay
<< <i>The wind was blowing and after the first few strikes, the tree fell in the woods, but did it make any noise? That is the real question. I'm going to look in all that I find! It definitely looks more like a variety than a scratched die like the Wisconsin ones. >> If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there… -

Re: Are you a gambler?

In my mind gambling is based on luck. True gambling (at least to me) is pure chance. There is nothing you can do to increase your odds of winning. When you win, you did nothing to earn the money but give money to the cause. Work was not involved, value was not added, education was not necessary. There are games that many… -
2006 CNA Niagara Falls Report

Attended my 4th CNA Convention last week in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The natural beauty of the Falls and the surrounding area was well worth the 9 hour drive. The bourse was huge, guesstimate of 50 dealers and 100 tables. Plenty of space for the aisles and each table had two chairs. Some dealers even set up “private”… -
Re: Warning! Another scam maybe?

One thing that I don't understand is: I keep getting the scam emails for the new paypal email address and the one about my paypal receipt to phonebuyer for the "myst" game..... and I get them every freaking week- so if I didn't fall for those scams the first time, why would they think I would fall for it the 89th time??
