Re: I need an honest vote on these coins (no bashing please)

I would ask if you had inquired if these had spots prior to the purchase. They can have spots and still be technically graded MS69. imho, the 89 and 90 really suck as the milkiness are very noticeable and distracting. But, did you "buy the grade/TPGS" and not the coin? That would be the question to know. I would guess,… -
Re: What's better 90% or silver american eagles
That's a trick question 😏 Make a list of pluses and minus, each will be the way to go at one time or another. Nothing like finding your roll having milk spots and you settle for spot if your lucky, no one wants ugly even in toning. Storage do you want tide degerent 3 X for $10 or the big bottle watered down for $5.97? I… -
Re: Octoberfest of Cards - show your pickups!!

Feast your eyes on this stunning highly gradable 1966 Topps Venezuelan. Clearly a 1 of 1 and beyond ULTRA RARE!!!!! Backs nice anyway. :D Came in one of those standard envelopes (a first for me) and watching the tracking on that was laughable. Never showed as being at our local PO. Showed as out for delivery 92.3 miles… -
Re: Hey everyone look! It's another chance to get your credit card out
<< <i> << <i> << <i>How many B & Ms do you know that can consistently buy all of their ASEs below spot? There have to be a lot of really stupid people selling for that to happen. >> All of them around me are a buck under minimum, firm. >> More power to them if they can find a steady supply of suckers. What do they pay for… -
Bing Cashback on Ebay at 10% - Silver below spot!

Just noticed that Bing cashback is now 10% on Ebay (was 8). So I thought I'd look and see if there were any 100oz bars, and low and behold, a JM 100oz bar was sitting there BIN $2000. 10% cashback, 2% ebay bucks, and $21 shipping, 2020 FF miles, and I've got a final cost of ~$17.80/oz... about .60 below spot Cashback was… -
Give away, 2006 1st strike ASE MS69...
The coin unfortunately has some milk spots, but it's in a PCGS slab so you might be able to get it replaced. Don't know. To win, ya gotta promise to give it to a yn. Honor system here. What you need to win is remember that Hardees Commercial, could have been Burger King etc., not sure. Lady was sitting in an 18 wheeler and… -

Re: Regarding 69s vs. 70s etc. for 25th Anniversary American Eagle Set
<< <i>I was thinking of selling everything that's not a 70 and getting at least 1 set of 70s and maybe 1 set of 69s. Then it occured to me that I have 2 sets of 69s with 2 of the 5 as 70s. >> I'd do the opposite, given that the biggest difference between a 69 and a 70 is the price. << <i>Question #3: Do the coins degrade… -
Re: When one speaks of dipping a coin....
<< <i>Dipping is doctoring in my opinion I share Paul's view; dipping most often removes the "original skin" of a coin. Ask some of the renowned collectors, like Stewart Blay, their opinion. It’s like you can't be just a "little bit" pregnant. I think the entire issue of dipping and coin doctoring will come out as PCGS… -
Re: Wayte Raymond Album RUINED MY WINGED LIBERTY!!!
Maybe I should try my luck in those Wayte Raymond holders. Which ones are you using? I have the green ones for the Washingtons from 1932-1959. I also have the brown ones for the Walking liberty halves(complete set) still in the original brown paper wrapping, the Jefferson set from 1938-1959 in the original brown paper…
