Re: You cannot be serious, Donald Sterling.
It will be very interesting to see what the future consequences of the NBA's punishment of Sterling (for his recorded offensive statements) will be. Particularly if the NBA successfully forces a sale of the Clippers in order to deprive Sterling of his ownership of the team. (Likewise it will be interesting to see if a… -
Re: Pacific Northwest Coin Road Trip [27 coin shops] + Visiting Dansco's Offices [March 17 - 22th 2025]

I meant to post this update for the last day of my trip [3/22/2025]. Been sleeping in :) Day 6 Update: Three Cities, 173 Miles, 3 Coin Shops, and Resting Up Today, I wrapped up the last leg of my week-long coin road trip. It's been an incredible experience. I took a slower day and visited three coin shops within the same… -

Re: Investing in coinage or bullion?
I’m going to take a slightly different angle here on the coins and even bullion as investments in that I do consider both to be investments, depending on their context in a greater portfolio of investments. Foremost, coins are a hobby of course, and to be enjoyed as such, but in the big scheme of things, I think they have… -
Re: about to store in 2x2's any hints?
That's a lot of questions to answer there. Nowadays one simply doesn't clean coins anymore. Collectors want them natural. If a coin is PVC damaged, then cleaning is OK, but it'll remain "cleaned" forever afterwards. Valuable coins should be sent in for conservation to one of the services that do that. I use a clean cotton… -

Re: guess the grade -- 1956 proof Washington -- grade revealed
Nobody got this exactly right... several deserve honorable mention... CarlWohlforth was the first, followed by GaCoinGuy, Trime, and Cameonut. The grade given by NGC is PF 68* CAM. This was my first purchase of a "*" coin. Picked it up on Teletrade on Monday for less than the price of a normal 68. It will reside in my type…
