Re: Ignore (unless you're a Kennedy proof collector) 2007 pops
I enjoyed reading this again; but I've yet to use Don's 'codify' in a sentence in the last year and a half. Thousands of 1964 to 1967 "proof" sets have been opened since this thread was originally started but the pops remain virtually frozen. This defies logic, but the high grade D/C's are just toooooo hard to find. Russ… -
Re: 1968 Kahn's
I think that the more the card is in the original state, the more desireable. If not, there would be no Hostess complete boxes or panels. There'd be no Hires cards with tab, no milk duds boxes, no Nabisco panels, no Post panels, etc. 1964 Topps Standups would have been punched out (which is what you were supposed to do).… -
Re: How much would you pay for a 1996 Silver Eagle?
<< <i> << <i>At a coin auction I went to last Sunday they sold 5 of them. I bid on all of them and stopped at $35 on each one, they ended up selling for $37-$47 each so I didn't get any of them. I'm not an expert on grading but would say all would easily have been at least MS 63. the next lot was a 2000 silver eagle, it… -

Re: Hockey Pucks have no support
if not for the milk spot, I wouldn't be selling mine. my intention was to keep a few sets for myself. I've gotten one and it's going out the door. Separately, I think even collectors like myself see the money to be made with the flip and are going for it, as we expect prices to fall later. I think we'll see the real… -
Re: Life is like a box of chocolates.......you never know what you get on Ebay sometimes
<< <i> << <i>. if that one passes grading i'll be happy for you CAF! but you are good with these with toning so i'll defer to your word . >> It looks like the typical toning when the coin is stored in the capsule with the black foam ring. I will let you know soon >> Hmmm....I use Air-Tite brand capsules with the black foam… -
Re: PO-1 fans (don't really know how smart we are!) - my YN made another one! 1853-O Arrows & Rays

I am not a smart man, but I just don't get this whole PO-1 thing. Why would you want to pay shipping and grading fees to have the satisfaction of having a documented very bad coin? Obviously your motives can not be economic. Nor do you want to own a coin that is attractive. This is not a put-down. Each collector certainly… -
Re: 2006-w SAE What's up??
of the the 2006-W ASE's I have looked at have only been raw and one PCGS MS69 I bought a month or two ago to use as a comparison. I can't see anything wrong with either the graded or raw coin through a 8x loop and angled light, etc.. I would have a very hard time trying to pick out a "perfect" coin to send to NGC. I can… -
Re: 2009 Silver Proof Quarter Die Error
I went back and checked my 2009 and 2010 silver proof quarters and as I remembered, none of my 2009 coins show any evidence of the mill groove (so it only showed up on the error coin). In my 2010 sets, one of the sets is perfectly nominal but in the other one, all five coins show evidence of the upsetting mill groove. In… -
Re: Was I Wrong? (Neutral Feedback on eBay)
I don’t think so, meaning I think neutral feedback was fair. Negative would have been unwarranted I agree with you on that. After all his main obligation he performed well, as a seller on eBay. I had a small store on eBay for about 4 years. Extra money I’m retired at 59. I sold nearly every sub $1000 coins that I had (not…
