Hit silver beach again with the Manticore. It seemed to false a bit more today than the previous hunt but still ended with a decent haul - a nice 10k white gold ring, vintage sterling ring, silver Washington, 3 silver dimes, buffalo nickel, some wheat cents and junk jewelry. -

The Fall Show was held September 11-13 and was a huge success! I met several board members. The attendance was over 1,000 and those who attended were there to both buy and sell. Individuals were bringing in silver and gold in coin and bullion form to sell. I have not seen people bringing in silver and gold in this quantity… -

IMO, the economy has had a major impact on both sales and offerings. Sales are sluggish because many collectors/investors simply don't have the discretionary funds to make purchases. Many sellers are holding their good stuff realizing they may take a hit, or biting the bullet and selling for lower than past sales numbers… -

While $945 held for the close, it did concern me that $941 was hit on the morning sweepdown following a head fake to $950. That was similar to how the low $950's were swept down last week from $970. It seems to hint that $930's will eventually come and possibly $920's. But for now I would agree that gold looks like it…
