Re: Critical article in Wall Street Journal about 9-11 "death coins"
Did the WSJ donate their profits from writing about this to charity? Papers write about controversial issues, it doesn't matter which side of the issue you're on, you sell papers. PCGS provided a valuable service by certifying actual recovery coins. Without this, every scammer would be selling bogus WTC coins on… -
Re: Hi, I'm a new member here, I would really like some advice on ebay sellers
There is not any "sellers to avoid" list of which I am aware. Scammer type sellers come and go on ebay so any list wouldn't be of great help anyway. The important key to baseball card collecting/investing is to read as much good information as possible to gain as much knowledge as possible. A good place to start is this… -
Re: Sellers, do you offer a COA?
Better to offer something in writing that has your guarantee spelled out with your contact information. When I used to do shows, I had my own business card with the details of my guarantee and my raw autos were sealed with a safety sticker. I also kept a detailed picture file with every auto I sold so if someone tried to… -
Re: EBAY fined by French court for counterfeits....
Yes but watch EBay OVER REACT to this. Instead of policing their auctions, looking for zero feedback sellers from China offering expensive hand bags, Ebay will most likely just not allow any hand bag sales at all. It’s like with the retaliatory negative feedback (which was an absolutely legitimate issue) but instead of… -
Re: Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you..

As WolfBear said: << <i>Seems as though some positives are coming out of all this. The honest guys have let it be known to all that we won't stand for crap like this, so future cheaters are now on notice to make dam sure they're one hell of a lot smarter than Gary. Some folks including myself are out some dough, but other… -
Re: Font types on PSA Label
Jeremy - Welcome to the boards! There are some fake psa slabs out there, and one of the most common fake slabs is the 56 topps mantle. If it's at all possible, get a scan or photo of the card and show it here. The fakes have the correct cert #s but the cards are not actually graded. A batch of them were sold on ebay over… -
Re: 1978 Topps baseball collectors

rd, Thank you for the kind words! But please, don't diminish what you are doing. Of course having the resources to buy alot of cards in a relatively short time make things easier BUT you still have to LOVE the set and that is what COUNTS! I could have done what you are doing I suppose. I chose to buy a good amount of… -
Re: Weird eBay "scam" going around, sellers beware.
Another recent scam/hack happened to a friend of mine. He sold a PCGS V-75 Gold coin on eBay. Buyer paid for it and sent his address..........which happened to be to someone else's address that had hacked into the buyers address profile. Luckily eBay paid for the lost transaction and had an address to track the thief down.… -
FS: 2003 Topps Chrome Dwyane Wade #115 Refractor PSA 9

Have it on ebay currently, but looking to sell private party. It originally sold to a well known trimmer/scammer on ebay but he ended up ignoring invoices and messages and due to his history in the hobby I didn't feel comfortable selling to him anyways so ebay advised me to cancel the sale. Ive seen some recent PSA 10's… -
Estate Doctor sells "Cheerios" Sackie

Which likely isn't. Nothing I see in the sale to indicate it's a cheerio's sackie, save for ED's saying so. Since he lists it as "gold plated clad" I doubt he know what a cheerios varity is or diagnostics. His usual private auction, so no way to alert the buyer. No reverse phot given, unslabbed. For those unfamiliar with…
