Re: I can't believe this auction did not get pulled...
i have to agree with lee.. the guy selling it is too chicken chit to make a large killing..but he knows there are others who will sell it. so he figures what the heck i'll sell it to a scam artist and i'll still make a little cheese. the seller knows what he is doing. and thats simply aiding a scammer who will turn around… -
Re: PSA 9 Mantle 1956
I just thought that if PSA scanned the card immeidately after grading it, each cert number would only have 1 image associated with it, so if you wanted to verify a card, you could see an image of how the card looked when it was graded. But yeah, the scammers would probably find a way around that too. It's just scary to pay… -
Re: eBay Bucks Update - Bullion
<< <i>gold and silver eagles are also US coins, as are most commems. List them in the US Coin section under 'other' and problem solved. >> eBay spends more time trying to catch what they call "cheaters" doing things like this than they do trying to catch scammers. So I would expect they quickly address this loophole. I… -
Re: The absolutely ULTIMATE Willie Mays card !!!
Really now, what is going through a person's mind when they post an auction like that? Tracing over the facsimile sig with a marker? Selling a reprint card as real? Can they really think it's worth a million, even if they have no idea about baseball? I wonder if it's a hijacked account, maybe hijacked by the person's… -
Re: Looks like our old pal dmplrainbow has graduated from juicing and editing images to just plain steal
The stories and excuses given by some of these Ebay scammers are hilarious sometimes. It seems they are on their death bed when it comes sending out the merchandise, but they always somehow seem to make it over to the bank to deposit your check or transfer over your paypal payments. This dmplrainbow guys excuse about the… -
Re: 58 penny
Don't go spending that $1500 just yet. LMAO. I'm glad to see that Etsy is finally doing something to clean up their listings. They've long been a home for scammers and/or people who simply don't know anything about coins but still list and put stupid prices on dirt common items just because they're shiny and/or have a nick… -
Re: My eBay shipping address isn't my address
So I googled the guys name and found his Twitter handle. Then I searched for that in the eBay seller search and found his ebay ID. He appears to be a normal card/autograph buyer/seller with perfect feedback since 1999. I sent him a message, but haven't heard back. Doesn't seem like a scammer at all. eBay's official… -
Re: Paypal invoice
I am 99% sure paypal will side with the buyer for this BS. I have simply stated something unlawful like counterfeit or empty package sent when the "wrong" card arrived and had it handled quickly. Sometimes you get to keep the card too--if you want a reprint or some fake because paypal scammers give up easier than ebay… -
Re: Advice needed, Paypal debited my account
This just keeps on getting better. I had an auction end last week, I've had several of the buyers contact me saying they have tried to pay me but Paypal won't put their payment thru. So even though they want to me to add money to work off my negative balance (which they caused by putting a hold a large transaction) they… -
