Re: Has anyone else rec'd. an email from Daniel Canup (Kryptonite Comics) since his sentencing?
It is hard enough dealing with "real" scammers, but you have to look out for fake ones as well. Sometimes I hate the Internet. It is worse than the Wild West.... The potential for abuse should have been foreseen and addressed by the brainiacs who invented it - the were very smart but also very stupid. There is (virtually… -
Re: Did they misplace the decimal?
I have purchased from Codyp long time ago. The last time I purchased a card from him was about 5 years ago. Well I never recieved the card and e-mailed him about it. He send me back a e-mail full of Cuss words and other things saying I was a scammer even though he didnt have D/C or anything. He is a complete dirtbag. -
Re: I win item, seller never ships, I win case to get a refund, ebay removes my neg. (?)
Heh. The ebay feedback policy has this on it's "allowed feedback" list: "While insulting language, like "fraud," "liar," "cheater," "scam artist," or "con man," is strongly discouraged, Feedback containing such language won't be removed unless it also contains some type of content that isn't allowed. " So, this isn't… -
Re: Craigslist Fake PCGS 1889-cc?

<< <i>Someone in Chicago ought to call the police and see if they have a department that investigates crimes such as this. Here's the number (non emergency): 744-4000 bob >> Chicago PD has better things to worry about. I learnt my lesson when i was dealing with that scammer who ripped me off on here for $800. I will give… -
Re: German Silver......I have been talking and complaining
<< <i> << <i>The same holds true to: CLAD, PLATED, 100 MILL(s), GERMAN OR NICKEL SILVER along with TIBETAN SILVER. Those bars have NO BULLION value and contain NO, or if lucky, a small amount of PLATED silver or gold. >> Ebay will nuke reported items above if they are listed in silver or gold bullon categories. >> True,… -
Re: A guy walks into a local coin store and says...
<< <i>Ideally, the market should drive these guys out of business. But, we know that isn't the case from the proliferation of hotel buyers and $cash4gold scammers that have popped up everywhere. >> The market would drive them out of business if sellers cared enough to make an effort to maximize the price they get for their… -
Re: BBCE shrink wrapped sets
I'm sure something similar to that scenario has been attempted at some point. One thing I've learned about scammers is that they'll often go to great and elaborate lengths to make a dishonest buck... and if they'd only applied that same effort and ingenuity into making a legitimate living, they would likely have a lot more… -
Re: I'm still liking the 76'ers.......for next year!
I guess it's possible as well that some chat in private messages may have been the reason. I'm not accusing any particular ex-member of anything like that because I cannot possibly know, but say somebody was real nice on the public forum, but then tried to lure targeted members with some sort of scheme in private chat. I… -
Re: Brief ebay rant... talk is cheap, how about a FVF discount?!
eBay jumped the shark quite some time ago. The good old days are over. I think someone would almost have to be crazy to put high value items on eBay. The scammers, unreasonable buyers, free returns, defects, items hidden in search, etcetera have become too much. In five years, eBay could be little more than a memory. You… -
Re: calling storm... or any other ebay afficionado
<< <i>I would respond thru the control panel. MANY requests for partial refunds are scams. Often, the scammers will vanish if you tell them to return the item for a full refund. The "buyer" will/may NEG you no matter what you do. After you refund, put the guy on your BBL. ............................. By October, the new…
