Re: Ok, honest opinion time...
You have one negative feedback in one year but your rating is 97.5% which is lower than most outright scammers! Honestly I'd start over with new site since that's not fair. Then, auction the coins at some small minimum starter price and charge what the regular successful sellers do who post on the forums for mailing. In… -
Re: Just doing my part as requested...........
:D :D I did not realize the scammers had now moved to 'gold dust' or any precious metals... usually it was always cash they were trying to move....Sadly, many have lost their savings and even died through these scams. So, although I laugh when I receive these (and I get two or three a month), there is a dark side involved.… -
Re: So I get this message today from an unhappy ebay buyer......2/20/11 Update 1st post

<< <i>I'd guess that the buyer is an absolute scammer and not really as uneducated as some would like to believe. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in. So since we're in the real world and not fantasy land all I can say is this m rs BLOCKED... Actually, maybe he's really unhappy with his last purchase: A Mens… -
Re: Poll: fuzzy pics? Burned, bargain, or breakeven?

For me, it all comes down to "gut feel" with the seller if the pics aren't super. My best buys have come from those with little seller feedback...20-50 range. Yes, there are scammers galore but there are still plenty of legitimate sellers just trying to clear out there closets, desks, etc... I like coins and I can't take… -
Re: FINAL UPDATE: The buyer of my set filed a dispute with Paypal-- Received the return today
Good luck. I had an unopened box of 1/4 Plat proofs up on eBay two months ago and pulled it for fear of this very senario. How could I prove what was in the box when even I hadn't opened it? It was worth about 3k and I was not going to eat that kind of money if a scammer targeted me. Keep us updated. It's a tough one. -
Re: Are the eBay "Coin Police" Still Active?
<< <i>Could be hijacked, but they don't usually quote QDB and provide U.S. mint historical vignettes. >> not all scammers are morons. With just an hour to spare, a person can become well versed enough to start an auction on a rare coin, just by doing research on the Internet. This looks like a blatant scam, and not one of… -

Re: '52 Mantle Authenticity Opinion

<< <i> << <i>The heck with the Mantle. How much does he want for the Matthews? >> Check out the 2 Pafko cards as well. One is in bad shape, but the other looks nice >> The "beater" could be genuine which is an old scammer trick to mix in genuine commons or key card beaters in a lot with high grade key card reprints, to… -
Re: Check out this deadbeat Ebay seller! Caught in the act!
Good luck with getting ebay to remove the feedback. I have had a similar problem and the guy negged me back on a 1k deal and then had the marbles to call me a scammer. I sent ebay proof of everything and they said "SORRY, WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING!!!" Of course not, if they had to deal with all the scum on ebay, they would… -
Re: Question for the group
There was another recent post about which hobby has the most scammers. I think it's amazing that collectors had to first worry about packs being tampered with. Then BBCE comes along and does their part to clean up the hobby, and now there might be people faking that. I know that 100 % certainty is impossible, but it just…
