Re: Wasn't this an "$80,000.00" coin just last week?
HEY! Get this. $90K Boy is reading this thread. Just got the following, unsolicited, from him: << <i>From: StackGenerator@cs.com Date: Tue, 17 Sep 2002 20:16:57 EDT Subject: 2000 NGC PF68 SILVER QUARTER NO RESERVE Item # 1381883553 To: russ@compucheap.com X-Mailer: CompuServe 2000 32-bit sub 107 Russ, The value in these… -
Re: "We paid $80 for the coin, which quickly sold to a variety collector for $2,000!"

<< <i><< I read this on a dealer's website. How does this statement, if at all, influence your interest to buy/sell coins from/to this dealer? What if a collector (ie. Russ or MadMarty) made a similar claim? Is there a double standard? >> There is no difference. The dealer is not too bright for admitting such a thing. No… -
Re: MONSTER SHOW COMING UP THIS SATURDAY IN KENT!!
Could not justify the time or expense of a trip to Kent. I would arrive only to find that all of the cameos have already been gathered by Russ; or that all of the dealers have set aside their thousands of Proof and SMS sets in an off limits backroom where only admittance is given only to Russ and Marty. With the above… -
Re: Anyone a member of the John Reich collectors society?
I have been a happy member of John Reich Collectors Society for about 15 years. As has been mentioned all work is done by volunteers who work strictly without pay and the Journal can only be published after enough members submit articles for publication. I have my copies of every Journal published and always look forward… -
Re: Is this a A.H. Kennedy?
Let's see how well I have learned my lessons. AH stands for Accented Hair. The earliest 1964 JFK proofs featured accented hair in the region above JFK's ear on the portrait. But, Jackie objected and the Mint toned down the hair. About 40,000 to 80,000 of the '64 proofs are AH. The diagnostics are a wishbone or W shape… -
Re: Stiffed by Board Member??
Russ- The title of the thread is "Stiffed by Board Member??" The title is NOT "Cheated by Board Member??" You say, "You did not get 'stiffed', as your title says, since no transaction was completed." You then go on to say, "And, no goods changed hands, so nobody was cheated-which is the definition of 'stiffed'." Sorry… -
Re: Think about moderns.
<< <i>One thing I'd like to point out to you though is that state quarters have only been in existence since the late 90's. PCGS and NGC started operation more than a decade earlier than that. >> CoinManiac527, You are absolutely correct. << <i>Does your argument still hold water? >> It wasn't an argument - it was a point… -
