A hopper is a giant bin--it doesn't need to be denomination specific. All you need is a dime to somehow get stuck or otherwise not leave the hopper when it's full of completed dimes, and then the hopper gets used to transport cent blanks where, when emptied, the dime then falls out. Voila, 11 cents. -

Yes, the grade taking centre stage is a major issue. But the problem is around the definition of 'quality' and 'better'. The scale is designed for very high volume US coins, and accounts for certain types of wear (and, in theory, nothing else). It's so precise, you can't even tell the difference without a magnifying glass… -

What could become an issue in the future is this current 1/2% fee when silver is at $40-50. $0.25 sounds low for an annual fee, but if silver falls back to say the $25 range in the future, that $0.25 charge now looks like 1% discount over physical silver. -
