Re: 2016 College Football
The reality is there is little difference between the main conferences and any team in the top 25 can beat any other team on any given day. no, not really. I bet Urbie is out milking cows this Saturday. he has been spending at least some of his time filming Public Service spots that have been aired locally, so he probably… -
Re: OK I have a sealed mint box with 96 2008 ASE dated 4-24

<< <i>I Just opened 75 of them, packed on 4/22--delivered toay 4/28--0-75--all normal--looks like the mint stopped the migration. Some were obviously packed a bit crooked, and all were in very tight--probably went through QA before shipping. Most had perfect rerses, and dusty obverses (silver specks in field and sun) >>… -
Re: Opinions on this Peace Dollar
Looks like a nice original roll MS64 coin. Some milk spotting on both sides but nice frost on frost with only minor breaks and small scuffs. Nice coin. You can still find nice Peace dollars cheap. Last year I bought an orig roll for $185 and they had nice toning and surfaces. Most were MS63 to MS64. But none were MS65's.… -
Re: airtight food storage containers for safe coin storage?
Where can you buy silica gel? I think getting the containers mentioned by sumrtym and the gel would really be good for my silver. I have quite a few sets of the 20th anniv silver eagles including 5x 70 sets and I would hate to see them develop milk spots. To start with I was thinking of placing them in the refrigerator… -
Re: How's this for spotting them?

Of course, it could just as easily turned out to be a hairlined to hell, milk spotted dog and a flush of $13. But, as we used to say in the Army, no balls no blue chips! BTW, BINed three other AH sets from a different seller at $9.95 each, and just got those in also. Those were obvious and man am I glad she had a BIN and I… -
Re: Wow........toned ASE's are at it again.....
<< <i>The question is, will the "toning" stop there, or are such coins merely on a fast track to turning black, as silver does naturally, given enough time? >> Does anyone have experience with these turning black? Just wondering if there's any data to support the hypothesis. ASEs with this (and similar, but different)… -
Re: I have to ask....repeated sales of "unopened" 1964 proof sets?
I bought a group of 5 sets off this guy last year.....all 5 had AH's, 3 were dcam, however, all 5 were milk spotted. I, too, wonder about these big groups........... On another note, CopperCoins........I have over a full roll of 60's proof cents pulled from flat packs if you're interested. Make me an offer, I'll prolly… -

Re: What you folks are missing the train on...
<< <i>Type in CMC mint in google - they are giving 15 % for orders of 500 and 22% for 1K or more shipping is a paltry $15 not bad. Look at the trends in the prices. I confess with Obamanation canceling the space program I would expect prices to drop for a bit. Lots of upside I think though over the long term. >> Let me… -
PCGS Guidelines for Eye Appeal - I just discovered this explanation from our host
I thought this was interesting Eye Appeal is one component of grade. For coins grading above MS/PR 60, eye appeal is one of the four components of grade. For Mint State and Proof coins, the three factors comprising a coin's "technical grade" are: Number and severity of marks and abrasions Luster, or Reflectivity for Proofs…
