How is that different than the grade exactly? TPGs grades are great... unless they Changed in the holder Damaged during grading PVC Milk spots Paste on gold Different Color Got the holder wrong Grading standards change Holders are basically fancy & strong 2x2s from one source opposed to any old dealer. Re: 3 course meal
i'll start w/ a nice, lightly toned capped bust half cent... just something small to take the edge off... followed by a thick, medium-rare (ok... XF raw) Morgan dollar and a red-wine colored Lincoln matte proof to drink... topping it off w/ dessert... a blast white and frosty Barber quarter in MS66 and tall glass of… -
Re: First Strikes... Will this matter in the future?
Of course it will but only to the First Strike slab collectors! Especially for those graded 69 that have not milk spotted and its only a question of time before PCGS includes all the other First Strike coins in the registry set instead of just the 2005 and 2006. Collecting First Strike labels has nothing to do with coin… -
Re: Why do proof coins haze?
@stawick that would be terrible to see the haze in the TrueView when it wasn’t on the raw coin you sent in. You’d have to crack it out to remove the haze, very frustrating. I wonder if some kind of preventative rinse in acetone or something similar before submitting it might help. I vaguely remember Russ used to say he… -

Re: Do we have any Cereal...

Does PSA grade the boxes ? Is trimming a problem with these ?. I have all the recent Spurs related boxes going back to Roberstson and then… -
Re: Picked up a "Peace" at the Santa Clara show
<< <i>Whats that mark above the letter N of IN on the top coin? >> Placid, it's a fake, it's a copy, it's a scam!!!! LMAO Serious it's the same kind of "Mark" that's over by the Y and some other places. I believe these are from the way they rinsed the planchets at the mint. Some times called milk spots or whatever. Very… -
Re: Oh man, I made another AH cameo!
Glad to hear they were able to help you on that coin. I bought a 39-S in a 66 slab that I am going to crack out and send to NCS, it has a milk spot on the obverse and the reverse needs a bath. I paid 63 money for it. I am not doing it for money, but just out of curiosty to see what happens. Oh btw way it is in a ICG slab. -
