Slightly OT: Question On Grading Coins/Currency
My father passed away last year and left behind a pretty good coin and currency collection. I'm finally getting around to sorting through it all and I think there is some stuff worth grading. But my question is which company? And which company for coins? Which company for currency? I did some preliminary research and there… -

Here is my 2 cents: Mintage is a biggie-(ex 1894s dime- 24 mintage) surivial rate 1927D saint 10-15 known because of melting. Mark - I am not sure on the minimum grade but it seems to me it was only for crossovers also. As far as 9 or 10 with a qualifier - I don't think there is such a thing as a PSA 10 with a qualifier. May be some in those "Gem Mint" holders or "FGA" or something - of course there is not much difference in a 5 or a 10 anyway in… -

NGC, ICG, PCI, SGS (yuck), NCI, NTC, PMG, CGA, CGC. That's all I got. Can you name them all out? All are graders. -

My favorite is SEGS, it fits the hand well, they have the top read label so when you look in the box you know immediately which "Slab-to-Grab", and the opaque color actually highlights the coin. But what about IGAs holder? I know, they grade for chyt, but you can see everything. Opinions? Jim -

It doesnt stop it from being cool and collectible, but it does create mass confusion. I can see if collectors avoid the set, as there definitely is too much controversy surrounding it. To top it off, you have the fake Musials, which I've seen most graded by FGA. All have been fake. This just adds confusion and big problems…
