I thought that I had a pretty good coin day yesterday and then today. A little past a mile into a 4 mile walk I spotted a quarter in the sun. Very late die state, prints on Obv and reverse, milk spots on obv, some kind of haze (pvc?) on Ike neck? Not sure acetone can "save" this one. For a 72-S that can come much nicer..........I'm going NGC MS64. Brian I Love Variety & Error Ikes!~ -

Ricko. The 1964 half is not an Accented Hair example. If it was I would be crowing about it. The coin is simply a high grade (no hairlines, haze, toning, milk spots, etc.) Black and white two sided Cameo with thick, even, matched two sided frost and deep watery mirrored fields. It has lots of eye appeal. -

1921 was the year they started using a different method of preparing the planchets which I believe included washing with hydrochloric acid. That's the major reason why there are so few bag toned 1921 Morgans and so few [if any] killer toned Peace dollars. IIRC there are lots of milk spotted coins in the Peace dollar series. -

Looks good so far. Doesn't appear to have any milk spots, which is one of the big problems on these. The other big problem is obverse hairlining, which is impossible to determine from an image. Check carefully for them after you remove it from the celo. If it's hairline free, it's an excellent score for $10. Russ, NCNE -

The only reservations I have about these coins, is their issues with milk spotting. I decided to take a chance, and picked up a few anyway because of the price. They were $25.69 when I purchased them with a check on 11/28. They are still available, but are now currently selling for $27.48.…
