Re: My Sarasota, FL coin show report
... > @JimTyler said: I made it to a restroom without any problems, but walking up that last flight of stairs to get to the show was scary. I couldn't find an elevator. I got a late start to another FUN show because I couldn't remove my SDB from the large frame that holds the boxes. Tellers were whacking it with rubber… -
Re: Card title variations on PSA label & PSA wants me to pay.
It's not a mislabel though. For it to be that, it would have to have been mislabeled incorrectly or falsely when PSA graded it. That wasn't the case when it was graded. If a variation is recognized years later, that's great for everyone. That doesn't mean they are obligated to reslab every single one for free. The best… -

Re: Greatest athletes to serve in the armed forces

Interesting story, Ty Cobb and Christy Mathewson served in the chemical services unit in WW1, if you know anything about WW1 then you know it was a horrific war, a lot of weapons were first used in that war, the tank, the flame thrower, and chemical gas was used as a weapon. Anyway, Ty Cobb told an interesting story about… -
Re: New Jersey Colonial Thread

- I've owned a couple of "New Jersey" St. Patrick's coppers. Here's a St. Patrick Farthing, ex Norweb Here's some more information about these coins from various sources: Mark Newby, a Quaker tallow chandler (candle maker), arrived in the New Jersey colony on November 19, 1681, with a group of emigrants from Dublin,… -
Re: What did Helicoptor Ben do now? PM's giving up all of todays gains...
Perhaps the most galling thing about short selling is that the brokerage houses sellout their own customers by lending their stock to the shorts. So the house makes money by lending the long’s stock to the shorts so that the shorts can drive down its value. Most investors don’t realize this is going on. Beyond that… -
One of the reasons I collect coins...the history.

One of the reasons I collect coins is that they bring history alive for me. Many times I am able to remember specific events in history because of the correlation I can make to certain coins in my collection. This is the case with my 1856 seated quarters. I live in Utah, and there is a prevelant story about the Willie and… -

Re: Condition expectations as seen under 10X magnification
Quality lighting is all you need. Joe Orlando confirmed that PSA graders do not use magnification to assess condition for most cards. It's a mainly a tool to detect/inspect alterations. Magnification will conceal slight bends and other issues, which will affect a grade a lot more frequently than the type of corner… -
Re: Dare this devil's advocate ask - might THE Peace dollar be NT after all? The other side of the coin/

Hi Mark, You asked several different questions. Might the coin be Nt after all? Highly unlikely, given what we know now. Impossible no. But if you had a sealed envelope (not used for coin storage which contained God's answer to the NT/AT question, and you had to give a lilkelyhood that the coin was NT, given all the…
