I think this coin might illustrate why it is so difficult to obtain uber-grades for untoned Franklin halves. I don't know the assigned grade, but the easily visible milk spots on the obverse and luster graze on the reverse would likely be tough to see with nice toning sprinkled on the coin. -

Accented Hair Kennedy toner....
I just received this in a proof set and was surprised to see this kind of toning instead of the ugly milk spots AH Kennedys are famous for. I received 4 sets and they were all AH but this was the only one that had toned. Just thought I would share. Obverse Reverse -

If the white stuff is milk spots you can forget it - they don't come off. I've seen weak full band coins that where the split goes all the way across - but it has to be obvious that the split is there - if you have to tilt the coin and use some imagination you won't get it -

Agree! It happened to me after my wife moved the cat litter boxes near some ASEs I was stashing. After a couple years I found them and they were spectacularly toned :D I like the OPs coin. It's better than seeing milk spots!
