i think they are toast, but wait a few years and fewer w/o spotting may really go up in value...especially the "70" 's i am so tempted to crack my remaining reverse proof 70's and acetone them and just keep them raw and possibly resubmit years from now....that's probably a stupid thing to do....but i do stupid things… -

You seem to be buying the holder (label) not the coin, so all you can do is trust the grading company. On one there seems to be a milk spot in between the eagle's wing. Don't be surprised if more of those pop up over the years. MS70 is a lofty grade for a newly struck silver coin. There is nowhere to go but down. ;) -

Nope. Not excited in the least bit. Typically, unless something unusual occurs such as a design flaw which creates a specific rarity or the implication of a rarity, anything purchased from the US Mint is a losing proposition. Their markups are outrageous and their product is subject to milk spotting. So, excited? Nope. -

I've done OK with UNC coins in Danscos (when careful to avoid slidemarks, as previously mentioned), but had a problem with milk spots and haze developing on proofs. I guess a lot of it has to do with the atmosphere in your particular area. (Humidity, salt content, pollutants, etc.) -

I thought I read on this forum that a member opened his box when PCGS was going to do away with the first strike thingy ma-jig for certain groups of collectors. And he found MILK SPOTS on them..... Does anyone else remember this being discussed?? -

There are what looks like some spotty streaks above Monticello on the proof. If they are milk spots or dust or dip residue the coin might grade 68 DCAM, it they are hairlines than more like 66 DCAM or so. It looks like a very frosty proof and I like it! -

Your first slab photo shows a milk spot to the right of the T. If that was there when the coin was graded, 68 max. Beyond that, these are impossible to grade from photos unless the coins are absolutely awful. Any mostly decent proof can be photographed to look like a 70.
