Hmmm. Obverse color is known from Mint sets of the era, but has a odd and non typical look. Proofs I dont know. eye catching. Reverse negative eye appeal toning and a couple of minor milk spots. Looks DCAM to me -

Shamika, It graded PR68 when I submitted it, and was all that. It later grew milk spots of the type that frequently appear on these in proof sets. It was undipped, and is now why I dip every single one before submission in order to stabilize the surfaces. Russ, NCNE -

It's not a stock photo, and those are the actual sets. The coin has micro milk spots. I was willing to risk around $15 a set, so I had a snipe programmed in at $71.77. Didn't get placed because they were already bid too high. Russ, NCNE -

Maybe that was Mad Marty getting a better look at those ASE's ( checking for milk spots ) , I heard he flies all over the Chicagoland area in a helicopter buying up all the unopened proof sets he can find b4 Russ gets them ! -

I'm ambivalent about these coins, but I have high hopes that a couple of them will make it-to PCGS PR 65 CAM at least. In defense of the carried away bidders on Ebay the other night, it isn't really at that easy to locate 1953 proof Elizabeth !! coins that make it to PR 65 levels or better, and also demonstrate reasonable… -
Anybody Use Oxygen Absorbers??

Does anybody use oxygen absorbers in their safes? I'm not sure if they might keep silver coins from getting milk spots or keep them from toning. Thanks for any experience with these that you can share. How about vacuum sealers? -

I'd like to see a change...would re-invigorate the series, I think. The series took a hit with the milk spotting and a change would bring things back. They did some nice platinum eagle designs....or could use a classic, early 1800s, type of design..... -
WTB - American Silver Eagle Business Strike Set NGC or PCGS MS-69
I can get one from a trustworthy source for about $725 and cheaper on the Bay if I want to take a chance. Anybody here have a set cheaper than $725? No milk spots. John
