Re: E-bay screw-up: What should I do now?UPDATE at bottom of first post:Seller sends me an e-mail.
It doesn't add up to me that a seller with a great feedback history up until mid January should turn scammer. Sometimes the fit hits she shan. Heart attacks happen. It's not like the OP has a lot of money on the line here, and he's got the system weighted in his favor anyway. If it were me, I'd go ahead with the sale. At… -
Re: New Paypal Phishing Email
I've received emails to a yahoo account that matches my ebay account, though that is not the email address I used to register with ebay. My thoughts were that the scammer sends emails to ebay and paypal ID's with "@yahoo.com" added as an email extension, in order to add some semblence of an official ebay or paypal notice… -
Re: Nothing in envelope scam--new Paypal policy allows?
There may be alot of fraud on these items, but in Webkinz cards get real. What I think may have happened the seller ACCIDENTLY did not put the cards in the envelope and his daughter put them back in her room or whatever and now the seller cannot find them and is ASSUMING the buyer is a scammer. I know the seller here is… -
Re: new ebay scam,,,beware

<< <i>WOW…is this really possible? From my understanding of internet protocols, I didn’t think it possible for a scammer to phish info from just clicking on a link…. Opening an attachment, YES. Filling in information once you click on a link, YES. But just clicking on a link…I don’t think that’s possible…otherwise, the… -
Re: Rare 1909 S VDB with "No mint mark"
Even if the coin was authentic, which I don't think it is, it's a bit overpriced anyway. Of course he's trying to reel in a fish with a best offer. Before the advent of PCGS, a local coin shop dealer who I would patronize often, mostly for supplies and occasionally a coin purchase, told me this story. We were both members… -
Re: For Sale- 2000 Private Stock Peyton Manning autographed card!!WOW Price Reduction Only Today!!
<< <i> << <i> << <i>It is no use to just keep argueing with you. You do not have a clue what I did with the cards. I know that Manning signed it in person! I am just leaving it at that, and have no use for you >> Most scammers have no use for the people who bust their scams. >> You are the only person I have ever had a… -

<< <i>Is eBay finally getting serious about fraud? >> << <i>The San Jose, Calif.-based online auction company began a program last year to safeguard members' identities by concealing their user names on expensive listings. That measure could make it harder for con artists to contact losing bidders and goad them into… -
Re: 1951 Mantle--Did PSA ever use different fonts on the same flip?
i would agree. i have actually seen a few "coin related" vendors on ebay posting fake flipped mantles. i would think the scammers are probably going in and "trading" the cards for some legit gold or coins that do not leave a paper trail. said coin shop owner thinks he's getting a deal after doing a lil research on what a… -
Re: What Would You Do? Customer Returns Two Coins for Refund, But Switched Coins with Counterfeits? An
If you kept the mailing receipt from the original shipment to the scammer, you have the weight of that package. Reconstructing the package with the counterfeits and the same exact material you used to ship should show a different weight. Easy enough to use as proof to the USPS that the eBay customer used the USPS to commit…
