Finally added a classic $2 1/2 gold piece for my type set!
I know these are not overly difficult as a type, but finding one that hasn't been messed with is tough, graded or not. This piece grades XF-45, has a nice yellow-orange color and plus a green bean to boot. -

Unlike my first sub-which took 4 years since joining this forum-the second was fairy soon after the first arrived. :) Please guess the grades. And there isn't a third yet (I need to recover from these)-so don't worry about daily postings. :D -

This is a VAM with enormous demand in high grades, but there is almost no supply. As a date, the 1903-S is what, about $2200-$2500 in AU55 even without the VAM? Wow, prolly for the first time in about six months, I looked for the ultra low mintages on e-bay (around 5,000 minted) and couldn't believe the prices some of those coins are asking. (PCGS or NGC slabbed). I was buying some of those coins earlier in the year anywhere between $300-$600. Now it seems those coins are over… -
