I use a wire end cutter that is pretty new, so quite sharp and about 1" wide. I've cut out every type of holder with no danger to the coin but always do it at my desk over a soft towel. -

Question about crossing a 1/1 pop coin
I have a coin graded by NGC that I was thinking of sending to PCGS but don't know the ropes good enough to make a decision . . . hoping I can get some opinions or advice. 1903 Jefferson G$1 graded MS65 by DHRC. $3250 shipped OBO. Super rare David Hall Rare Coin example. This is the second gold coin and first gold commemorative that I've ever seen in a DHRC flip. The only other one I know of is a 1903 $2 1/2. -
