Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
About 90% of this Canadian change has come from our local Coinstars. $2, $1 Loonies and a couple silver dimes. Helps that we are just across the bridge or tunnel from Windsor, ON. Think last check was about $18.00 in change. Have found plenty over the years. American,, wheat Lincolns, silver dimes(Couple mercury dimes),… -
Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
Happy July 4th to me! Stopped by the supermarket to get some 2-for-1 hotdogs (sold out) and on the way in I checked the Coinstar machine. Just last night I was telling the story of my $14 face value silver find a few years ago. Today was a smaller haul but I'll take it. 1964 dime, 1963 dime, and a self-destructing zinc… -
Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
Score! Took the daughter shopping and checked the Coinstar out of habit. 26 cents, 1940 to recent with three steel cents. 3 dimes, 1942 D, 1954D and 1963D 5 quarters including the 1925, 1962 and three recent. 1 1969D Kennedy and 10 foreign coins and one token to some sort of arcade. I'm thrilled. Oh I'm looking at the… -
Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
Circa 1965-1969 I faithfully checked every phone booth coin return slot I came across. The occasional dime or quarter mightily enhanced my $1 per week allowance. Today I still check the much depleted number of phone booths I encounter. Earlier this year I found 50 cents that went into my dedicated "found money" jar. The… -
Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
I have to admit, not sure what is up with the "hauls" lately, but I really don't mind... The numismatic treasures are as follows: 1943-D cent 1940-D nickel 1952-D quarter yay silver! Another 2012 Loonie Another twoonie Britain 1 pence 2012 Thai Baht coin, not sure on date. The last couple of weeks have accumulated C$14 in… -
Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
Entered my local Kroger yesterday and Beavis and Butthead (or was it Dumb and Dumber) were at the Coinstar machine stuffing their life savings into the hopper and consoling each other with the fact that "I think they only take 12 1/2%". After cruising a few aisles I went back to see if there was anything in the return slot… -
Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
Just got my wife to start checking about six months ago. Most of the time, there's nothing, and I tell her that someone else probably just checked. About 1 in 4 times she finds a few foreign or US coins. Found one silver dime about 3 months ago which was quite exciting and the first silver from circulation in years.… -

Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
@Glen2022 , @ricko , They're definitely not getting smarter in my neck of the woods. 2023 has been a good year for both silver and change. As I have stated, there are 3 major stores within a block and 1/4 apart that all have CS machines (Safeway, Nob-Hill & Mexican store) and they are along my daily route. It's easy to… -
Re: The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD
FINALLY. At Walmart: Oddly enough, two different countries, both 1997. On top is a Chinese Yi Yuan. More interestingly on the bottom is a South Korean 100 Won. The person depicted is Admiral Yi Sun-Sin. Here's a portion of his story from Wikipedia: "Admiral Yi Sun-Sin; April 28, 1545 – December 16, 1598) was a Korean naval…
