1889-P VAM 19B Morgan with Clashed N
I've had this coin for a year and never noticed the clashed N. Just happened to tilt the coin and catch the right light. It also has the die break on top of the eagle's right wing. Question... the 19A (formerly 5A) came first, then the 19B? The 19A has a larger break on the eagle's wing. Was this polished off, and then… -
Still confused about the 1889-P 5A -> 19B ->19A VAMs - Die Progression Question
I posted a couple of threads regarding the 1889-P VAM 5A... which can now be a 19A, 19B, or 22 (thread1, thread2). I'm still confused about the 19A vs 19B. I thought I had a mini-hoard of three 5A's (two uncirculated, one circulated). Now I think it's three 19B's, or one 19A and two 19B's. Help. Coin#1 Shows a full clashed… -

1889-P VAM 19B Morgan - with a FULL Clashed N and Partial ST
I was obviously too wordy in my last thread. I'll keep this short. My 89-P 19B has a full clashed N and a partial I from IN. Also has a little clashed ST from TRUST. That is all. 19B III21 · C3b (Doubled Reverse, Clashed Obverse n) (190) I-2 R-5 Obverse III21– Triple clashed die with faint double partial n of In from… -
Re: Rarity of 1889 VAM-19B Barwing, Clashed n.
The 19A is a later die die state. The 19B came first. However, the 19A was identified first and published in the VAM Book (originally as the 5A). I sent Leroy Van Allen several 1889's recently. They included a clashed n without a barwing, barwings with clashes, and larger barwings. I thought if it had a clashed n AND a… -

Re: Okay, VAMMERS, or Morgan peops in general...what is this on my 89P? - many pics
<< <i>...maybe its not a VAM? >> << <i>Just to make sure, VAM designations are not given for die clashes, but they are given for die cracks, correct? ALL die cracks? I have the book, but it is still not clear to me what qualifies as VAMS and what does not. >> << <i>The first pic is a common die clash mark. >> WRONG!! ALL… -
Six Morgans - 1899-O Micro o, 1921-P 3F Pitted, 1889-P Barwing, 1921-P IR, 1921-D 1AE, 1921-S Polish
Picked these up today. Most were in the "junk box". Need help confirming the VAMs. 1889-P "Barwing". Thought it was the 5A. Coxe and coinduece were nice enough to point out the 5A was replaced. Now I think it's a VAM 19B. There are three clashes and a partial N under Liberty's neck. 1899-O Micro o. Does it look like a VAM…
