Re: Bringing kids into coin collecting
My dad got me started, although he had a very passive role. My dad collected when he was young (early 50's) through the mid 70's. The kids came and he most likely quit because the money (and priorities) shifted. He never really showed me his coins but I used to look through his old collection. I always thought they were… -

Hey Rob, After all the dust settles on your sales, I could use any of these cards in strong centered PSA 8's or 9's to crack out and use in my raw set. Re: Gold Freefall?
This is pure hype about either IMF or Central Bank gold sales in the future. Sure, first Germany's central bank came out in late 2004 stating they'd sell 500 tons of gold on the market soon enough. Well now soon enough is probably never. Who wants to be the first bank to step forward and sell away their countries gold?… -
Re: Diversification within the Precious Metals
I got rid of most of my bullion type coins in favor of Saints and Libs in 2002. I don't have any repeat dates in either series so taking a lesson from 80 I don't want to be kicking around a bunch of bullion if/when the game is over. This way I've got the same upside as bullion and something I can live with as a collection… -
Re: On This Date in Baseball...
<< <i>Ax, if you fail to recognize the benefit of a fresh arm as opposed to a tired arm, a matchup of a lefty/righty or righty/lefty, a fastball pitcher to an offspeed pitcher, and so on then this debate cant go any further. The sole purpose of a reliever coming into a game is not just to save the starters arms and pitch… -
