I am thinking that these 2 marks might just be Rockwell test marks "pre strike" I know its a long shot and beyond crazy rare but everything lines up fact wise as to how the coin became.
- There are two different depths within each of indentation marks. Yes they are 1/32" and 1/16" in depth.
- The obverse's features (jaw line and throat) stretched out the circular original from the test mark once the coin was struck.
- Inside each of the (test marks/indentations) you can see the coins design features of the jawline or throat and they are raised.
- The coin as a whole besides the test marks, appears to be elliptical and broadstruck. On the reverse it looks like it was possibly struck through cloth?
- So with a coin that appears as if it went through some sort of pressure strike adjustment of some sort.
