trimmed or NM/MT+??

Depends which grading service you believe, apparently. And the seller lists several others with similar grading history.

He should've sent it back to SGC with his tale of woe. I bet they'd reslab it for him.

I doubt it -- check his other auctions for the Cobb where SGC screwed him.

This is a twilight zone auction. Some sellers take an altered card and insist it's genuine. This guy's taking a likely genuine one and insisting it's altered. SGC saw the card twice and they said it's a real corner.
He may not want it in his personal collection, but he is costing himself significant money here.

I think he must be putting them all up at what he paid thinking that he is shaming SGC - because he'll never get what he's asking on the 54, the Cobb, or the stooges.

  • It's pretty clear the 4 cards are trimmed as PSA has rejected each MULTIPLE times. So the question is why isn't the other grading service picking up on the same signs??

What I don't understand is if PSA rejected those as trimmed, why not inspect the edges under 10X magnification with an untrimmed example stacked on top (or bottom) and look for any differences. Sending the cards in 3-4 times is odd to say the least. As far as the Cobb card it does look weird, I wonder why he didn't crack it and send it to PSA as well. He's already got the no-go on a review from SGC and he's not likely to get any offers near what he's asking. He's just doing a little negative advertising for his troubles, gotta get even somehow.

    This is BOTN's account, no?

It's an ironic twist of fate considering why he was kicked off these boards many years ago.

I'd like to hear why he got the boot.

I believe the last straw was posting images of problem cards in PSA holders. He claimed to have a lot of altered cards in PSA holders that he had submitted himself. You can search his posts on the SGC boards from around 2004 to see what I mean. You won't have to look hard.

Is it at least good that he is offering all of this infor in his auctions?
  • It concerns me that pretty ordinary cards are apparently being trimmed and slabbed by SGC. Not sure what to make of it. With the multiple trips to PSA this isn't just a matter of a disagreement.

like the guy is trying to get something to pass PSA that shouldn't? Why would he give so much information in his auctions then? I don't know what to make of it.
  • I think he submitted multiple times to make sure the card in fact was trimmed and that PSA hadn't simply made a mistake in rejecting it. Now that it is clear the card, and the others, are timmed, he is upset that SGC slabbed trimmed cards and wants to make that known. This is not just one isolated card, after all, it's 4. Who knows what's really out there.

If anyone knows anything about this seller, then maybe they'd understand his "motive." He's ticked off that he wasn't able to play the game that he plays and as always, wants to blame someone else for his failure to get a bump. He has a history of altering cards and playing the bump game. He's been down this road before, trying to extort grading companies. Take what he says and how he says it with a grain of salt... Although I'm sure some of you will run this thread the wrong way down a one-way street.

As always, knowledge is key. Knowing who's doing the talking and what they're really talking about is much more than what most are willing to see. It's just too easy to take things at face value and not understand what the real truth is.

What time on Monday does litigator get his plug pulled? Albeit, the ID was established nearly five years ago, but I get the impression that the OP has a last name that ends with a "z" and is continuing the agenda of their eBay "auctions" here. Why else would the user come out of hibernation?

Again, folks need to read between the lines to find the "truth."

Thanks for the email Greg. I'll stand by my words, though and will not reply to you email privately. Just remember, NEVER is a very strong word. And if "litigator" isn't you, then he's mighty close to you as this thread and the immediacy of the subsequent email have been very transparent with regard to their motive and purpose.

Hmmm, altered or not? Inquiring minds need to investigate more closely. I'm certain this would meet with Tiger's approval and he'd lay a few extra strokes on the putting surface.
