Poppage But Trying Something Different...CARDS RECEIVED, GRADES POSTED

I have a 107 card order that had the grades posted today. However, fighting every inch of the way, I have thus far stopped myself from looking at the grades. I am trying to hold out until the package actually arrives from PSA. In my twisted logic, I believe (or hope) my grades will be even better by waiting to view them live.

Please help me maintain the will power to keep from looking. Fortunately, I live in California so I should have the cards here by the end of the week. Just need to hold out to see if my theory has any merit.

Don't look ! It's much funner to learn the grades with the cards in hand. One card at a time, do the quick flip look maneuver.

Well my "theory" paid off. I held off reviewing the grades until I had the cards in hand. This was a lot more fun as well. I did quite well. I was hoping to get more 10s on the 78 Topps and 84 Donruss but I have to pat myself on the back for hitting a high level of 9s or higher for those years (really, separate from the acknowledged price differential, can we tell the difference between many 9s and 10s). I should be able to recoup my grading costs on this submission by selling a handful of the cards. Many I will end up keeping since the collector in me likes that.

Almost all of the 4-6 graded level cards come from my grandfather's collection. Those cards have special meaning to me and I have been grading his collection out slowly over the past 10 years. They will never be sold.

In submitting, I played careful attention this time to centering. That really paid off. I for the most part avoided qualifiers (I think just one or two below) with none being oc. My crack and resubmit efforts were very good. I did get the not unexpected handful of "minimum size requirements" kiss of death. However, that really in my mind means little inasmuch as the "N6" is heavily subjective and varies submission to submission (see one of my notes below).

Nice results! I've received grades both ways in the past and am always torn. I prefer to wait to see the grades until I get the shipment but I've saved time and money by highlighting mechanical errors immediately after the grades post by catching the problem before the order ships.
