Why does VCP miss so many

I have no idea if they receive a data feed, or just scan EBay for BIN's/auctions.
I was watching a BIN card for about a month and poof, it disappeared. I checked the seller's feedback
and it was indeed purchased. Why are these cards missed ?

I think BINs are only reported at the scheduled end of the listing, not when it is purchased. If the BIN is supposed to run until April 20, it won't be reported until then, even if the purchase date was April 5th. I think.

Exactly could not of said it better myself.

It is not something that we want to do and wish we could report it right after it sold but due to what we have to deal with via the eBay API are hands are tied.
  • Thanks for the explanation. Not surprised that the API is not more robust.

Agreed. And I know it's just a guideline, but I feel it paid for itself many times over, every month.

    Rick,

I second that. Would be nice if they added some 2000's, like Pujols, Brady, Brees, Lebron, Etc.image

-Second that, love VCP but if it could go to just 2001 it would be sweet (Brady & Pujols).

Great tool for selling. My only question is this....How do you notify them of errors? They have a PSA 8.5 #150 1967 Mantle as selling for like $180. They have it listed as a PSA 8.5 o/c....which doesn't even exist. I've PM'ed Bobby numerous times and nothing has been done. I actually feel like I'm being ignored. No response whatsoever.

Just to make it clear....I do think it is a great tool for selling. Buying is a different story as the strength within the grade of the card sets the price.

Not sure where you PM'd me, if it was here or on the VCP site?

I have corrected the error and appreciate you telling us about it. In the future if you can on every page on the bottom right is a button "Report a Problem" click on this and then tell us the error. This way we get the message and it contains a link to the page in question and makes it faster and easier to fix.

Again thanks for pointing it out we count on our members informing us of the very few errors that do occur.

    Regards,

    BobbyVCP,
I PM'd you 3 times...I just checked; but who cares at this point as you corrected the error and answered the question of how to report errors on the site. I think your "VCP" is a great hobby guide. Thank you for providing the service. I know it's helped me sell on EBAY.

  • You are correct you PM'd me a few times here but I had no idea I even had any messages. I just checked and there was 27 of them...WOW. Some as far back as almost 2 years ago. Again the best place to get me is on VCP through the contact or report a problem button. I just finished responding to all the PM's and sorry if anyone thought I was ignoring them it just was not the case. I never log in at the site only to respond to threads and so never noticed the messages until now.

    Regards,

    Bobby
