I wasn't aware of bars (such as that 2 oz Engelhard bar just posted) getting big premiums.
What bars, rounds do get big premiums? I am able to look through about 1000 ounces of 1-10 oz pieces a week, but rarely pull anything out.
I just saw some Johnson Matthey 100 gram bars on eBay, for a decent chunk more than melt (one more than double, and many for ~50% more), so I picked one of those up for basically spot.
Is it mainly the old "loaf" style? Or not necessarily. Is there any sort of book/guide when it comes to collecting these?

premiums. You may be best off looking for
1-10 oz. Engelhard or J&M bars, poured
or stamped. I've purchased other bars
before only because they were "cheap" !!!
I can speak a bit about Engelhard. Generally speaking, the poured odd-sized bars carry the greatest premiums. In order of increasing rarity you have 3 oz, 7 oz, 4 oz and 2 oz. Some stamped bars like the earliest version of the 1 ounce bar and any 1/2 ounce bar carry substantial premiums.

Do any Silvertowne bars command a premium? I recently saw 4 or 5 poured 10oz bars, which can be had around spot.
Gold does not need to replace currencies to reshape financial power. It only needs to replace collateral.
Typically little premium.

I have never seen a 10 oz CS. All the Credit Suisse bars demand a premium, in particular the 5g and 10g.
If you can get it close to spot it will be a good buy, imo.
