Does Registering your set ...

add value to it? I think in many ways, it may devalue your set, unless your are near the top. There are many plastic buyers and some highly graded coins that are just plain ugly.

Your thoughts?

  • I don't know that registring one's set necessarily adds or detracts from it's value. The grades and values of the coins contained in the set are what they are. If you have a nice set, it'll have a nice value to you, or someone who may want it. If it has run of the mill coins it'll be worth that. I really don't think that anyone is putting a whole lot of value into the fact that you're on the registry. As for me it's a point of pride of the fact that after almost 30 years of collecting, I finally have something worth showing and I'm kinda proud of it.
