  • When I read the Heading to the Thread, I was thinking something else.

    I like some fake things.

    They've all got scanner distortion.

Card 2 looks like it might be the fake.

However, a quick once-over with a loupe would yield instant results.

Why would anyone go through the trouble of faking that?

This card was the target of counterfeiters 20 years ago, when it was worth some money.

A PSA 10 will still get you well over $600.00 and a PSA 9 will cost you around $40

For an 80s rookie that's not so bad.

    It's #2

I know the scanner plays a part, but #2 black lines are not solid.
The Blue in the St. Louis logo is dot matrix as well as the O-Pee-Chee word.
I didn't show the back of this card as I thought it would definitely give it away,
but the back is suppose to be a light orange color. The back of the fake looks
more reddish and has somehow bled through the front so the white border
    has a reddish haze.

#1 appears to be a photo copied reprint.. as well (fyi)
  • I don't know which of the first/second is fake, but I know the third is real.

#1 does look crappy especially the green area and weird picture.
I took that off the bay and thought it might be the scanner. It's possible; I dunno.
