Would you crack and sub this Jordan RC?

The Jordan on the left is mine. The BGS 8.5 is also mine, that I am selling. Does anyone think I should crack this BGS 8.5 and submit to PSA 9 in hopes of a PSA 9? Opinions are greatly appreciated.

    Matt:

I would leave it alone... Perhaps it is just the scan, but the BGS looks at tad bit short top to bottom. Perhaps give it a shot for a straight PSA 8.5 cross and if that works, resub for a PSA 9 bump. But that's just me.
  • t/b centering on it might be a waste of $ to crack and sub if expecting a nine.

Scott, I can't get the scans the same size, so the card will look short, It seems to measure up fine.

i would sell as is, it's something a potential buyer would recognize is a possibility anyways.

I don't think I would ever crack a card where a bump would only result in a 50% increase in the card's value.

Sell it in the BGS 8.5 holder is what I am going to do. Thanks for the opinions guys!

    Matt:

I realize the scans are different ratios, but at first eyeball, it just seems a hair short. Selling it "as is" is probably the wisest move. It is always better to let someone overpay thinking they can bump it, especially when the chances are slim...

The top to bottom centering looks off to me and both right side corners have a touch of white. I would not crack this as an 8.5 looks generous to me. It could be the scan but I see more risk cracking then just straight selling the card.

    Good luck either way.

  • Initially on your old thread I posted and said I believe with 9 corners and edges you had a SOLID shot at a psa 9, I edited it out due to some other responses though.

Matt ... I don't think it has a shot at a "9" because of the touches on the top corners, the touches on the blue on the right side and the t/b centering. Sell it the way it is. You made a quick couple of hundred on the trade. GOOD LUCK.

More likely an 8 than a 9 if you crack and resub.

Also, your 9 is ridiculously nice. Great eye!

If it's short and since the surface is 8.5 is it possible this is a sheetcut card?
  • NO. Soft right side corners
