Good news to baseball auto rookie collectors... Set Registry Now LIVE... But I'm out!

I know this is probably the wrong place for this but I just wanted to let my fellow collectors know who collect autographed rookie baseball cards we'll have our own registry set coming live next week. The PSA registry people have been great about getting this done and up for all of us - We'll no longer have to compete with all the modern junk auto's image

Uhhhh hell yea! Keep me posted.
  • Set is now live... I'm open to making any changes to rookie cards that can be used for the set. In most cases I just picked in the following order first Topps, Bowman, or Leaf card for the older guys - for modern I've tried to ask for everything but it looks like PSA just picked one card for modern guys (I've requested this be changed!).

to kick this off this is my latest addition!

I hope to see all you rookie collectors in the registry!

I'll have to get mine added soon.

Will this be players only or will others like umpires or contributors be included like Barlick, Conlan, Gillick, etc?
Currently working on: Kurt Warner PSA 9 or 10

I just set up my set! Thanks a lot Jasen, now I have to replace a couple of my OPC rc's with Topps and my Alomar rc. Does this sickness ever stop???? I'm just curious why you didn't use the 81 Ripken Traded for the registry?

Now we need exactly the same parameters for football (but for the Fleer years you need to be able to use Topps too).

I did request that be that card used... they had me send them a complete checklist and then decided to pick which cards to use. Hopefully they will allow different rookie cards to be used. I’m not sure why the picked the Puckett Fleer Update and then not the Ripken Topps Traded.

  • Any idea why is the Leaf card not included for Kiner or Musial?

    .

I tried to stick with just Bowman on several guys to keep it simple - both Kiner and Musial have been huge signers so it's very easy to get their auto's. For some of the other guys who have passed away I figured it's much harder to find any signed cards so I tried to be as inclusive as possible on those guys.

But I'd be fine with requesting Leaf cards be added if someone's a big Leaf fan.

  • Just got some news that has me sick to my stomach... I e-mailed the registry people asking for other rookie cards mainly for modern guys to be added. I was under the impression the PSA registry people would be willing to work with us to accommodate some of the modern guys. After I spent a few hours pulling all the info PSA request on what cards to use here is the response I got back from PSA today about adding other rookies:

The set will remain as is. The set needs to be consistent with the non-autograph set that is online. There are too many different opinions and the HOF Post War Rookie set has been established for several years. We do not allow for multiple cards in the rookie sets that require a specific card.

For me personally the fun part of this set was using the rookie cards that to me have the best look for my collection. If I want to use a 1975 mini I should be able to use it. If I like the Topps Traded Ripken rookie it should be allowed, if the 1985 Topps Puckett is the one I think that's the one I want to go with great! All cards are considered rookies so this PSA rule brings me back to everything that forced me out of this hobby many years ago. This may have broke my PSA addition once and for all!
