High $ Ebay Item and a guy from Venezuela...Storm thoughts?

Hello,

I've listed on Ebay a high dollar item (UD Babe Ruth 500 Club #714 not #POH) with BIN or BO. Based upon recommendations on this board, I have indicated no international shipping in my description and excluded all foriegn countries in that option on the listing. I received a question from a person in Venezuela regarding my best price and whether I have certain other cards in the set. Should I just tell him that I will not ship internationally or is there a way of shipping a card (or two) that I won't get bitten in the butt? Venezuela scares me.

I did ship a card to Japan once but I was very confident regarding that buyer as he had a strong history of buying cards from the set the card I sold him was in.

    Shipment USPS Express International or GXG comes with tracking that is Paypal compliant. I believe that both of them require signatures, which will may you compliant for items over $250. Of course, I guess there is always a little bit of a risk, particularly to Venezuela over a country such as Canada, the UK, or another more "western" country. Has he bought other high-dollar cards from the US recently?

    Personally, I would not do such a transaction unless I was paid
    via WU.

    The problem is that if you suggest such a payment, you will get
    into trouble if the "buyer" reports your suggestion to EBAY.

    Thus, I would have to pass.

    Ask yourself this:

    Is it worth 5% less to you to wait on a US buyer and have piece of mind?

    They should not have been able to ask a question if you have your settings done correctly. You may want to just ask where he has his PP ship to because I have sold to a buyer that was out of country (Venezuela) but had all shipments to a Miami address.

    The buyer indicated that his paypal uses a verified US shipping address.
