Another heres my story, sad but true......

Usually I hang out on the coin forum, but trollin around here got me to thinking
about when I was 10 and in the 5th grade. My friend Scott and I back in 1969
had this competition to see who could finish the 69/70 Topps Basketball set, we
spent every nickel and dime on them, allthough I dont think we ever did complete
it. I do remember everytime Scott got a new pack of cards because he actually
would chew that stale gum that came with them, and I also recall us both having
at least a half dozen Lew Alcindor cards each and we kept those because he was
one of the tallest players in the NBA, any how I think Jerry West was one that
eluded me for the most part, and to this day I have no Idea what ever happened
to the couple hundreds I had, I had 3 older brothers and there friends hung out
around the house, so who knows, any how thats my story, sad but true.

Thanx for sharing - but - yes - it's a tale we can all relate to in one way or another.
If we're talking back in '69 - I'm sure even if you found them today - they would probably be in worse shape than you may recall?
My mom didn't throw our stuff out - and the cards that survived from 3 brothers were all Vgs at best.
The most salient part of your account for me is the "fun" you two had - remember that - it's our youth!
