Cracking cards out of PSA holders

I have tried the search function and no dice.
So, can I get advice on how to do this the best way?

    I actually use a real small flat head screwdriver. All you need to do is wiggle it in somewhere along the edge of the case and break the seal. Then start to slowly move it around the edge and the seal will start to pop as you go.

    Ok, so pretty much just like cracking out a CGC comic book! Thumbsup, thanks for the help!

    Anyone have a suggestion for cracking a pack out of a PSA holder? Those thick plastic pack holders give me all sorts of trouble.


    Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

    I use a pair of horse hoof trimmers and clip the top right corner off of the slab. Just enough to show the paper and then I wedge a small flat head screwdriver in between the open part and pry it open.

    Tim ... never tried the pack slabs, but if you click here I believe by placing it inside the refrigerator the job would get done. Good Luck!

    I use a hack saw to cut off just under the flip. Then I get a slotted screw driver and gently pry
    open the case in the opening exposed by the cut.

    Least risk of damage to the card inside using the saw first.

    Exactly how I was gonna describe it. CGC slabs are a little easier since they are so much bigger but yup pretty much same idea.

    Yep! I use a wire cutter instead of the hoof trimmers though lol

    SGC slabs have been the hardest for me to crack while PSA'S are the easiest.

    I have this little set from Lowe's, Kobalt Mini Multi-Bit Screwdriver.

    The smallest of the flatheads fits right under the seal, and, a few twists later, you have an uncracked (meaning no plastic shards to screw up cards), opened slab.
