I don't know why certain sets get overlooked with Brent. I consigned an awesome 1958 Topps football set. The Jim Brown rookie card was already graded a PSA 6. The set looked very similar, if not better than, a set that he previously sold the auction before for over $3,000. Come to find out, that bid was from a deadbeat bidder. Meanwhile, my set sells with him for only $700. Took a small $300-$400 loss. Meanwhile, the original set that sold for over $3,000 goes in the auction after mine, and sells for around $1700. Tough to predict sometimes.......

When selling these early Bowman cards, is it pretty much just accepted that there may be stains on the back? I've noticed that a lot of reputable sellers don't mention it either way. I know it's common for the issue.

Got a good price for my 69 set tonight too.

The 66 football set is also mine.

SOM, with all the 6s in that set, I'd say you did do VERY well.

I was happy with mine too (71-75 topps sets). Wish yours did better Lee.

Based on how it looked like it was going I'm fine with the $2800 it got even though I was originally hoping for $3200+. Guess my kid won't eat for a few weeks, but he won't mind that much.

  • Ahhh... so you're the guy with the fabulous '73-'75 sets. The '71 & '72 sets don't stick out in my mind but I remember seeing those '73-'75 sets for sure. That almost got me wanting to build a nice '73 set again. For some reason I love the photos on that year. Am I crazy??

I think the 73 set was the result of 5 set merges and a hand picked Ryan. I've been selling off 73's all year!
