1998 Canada Maple Leaf with Privy mark, should I slab it?

Picked this up yesterday and thought to have it slabbed and get true views.

What do they sell for lately? I don't plan on selling it but wondered it's value, I paid silver spot price.

I wouldn't but then I don't send any bullion coins to be slabbed.
If you paid around spot, you got a good deal.

Very nice coin.

These canadian privy mark coins are very hard to find. After like 2003 they became impossible for me to find the new ones....

I agree, I would not bother to pay to have it slabbed. These privy coins are nice to collect as a subset of the Canadian Maple Leaf coins. I have a few, such as the VJ day and VE day. They make a nice presentation as a grouping in my collection without any labels declaring their grade.

Follow the link above for information on maple leaf coins in general. The issue price is indicated. Current value for the privy coins are related to mintage; the one you have here is the 90th anniversary of the RCM privy. Only 13,025 were made. Even with that low mintage, a nice one in the OGP may fetch $80 or $90. Yours, somwhat less given the condition I would guess.
