FSH: Breaking up my nice VG-F Barber half Dansco collection...***SOLD!!!***

Well, it's time to sell off my partial Dansco album of VG to Fine Barber halves.

UPDATE: And I have, now. ALL SOLD, AS A SET, minus the one 1915-S I sold individually! Thanks!

Recently I had all ten of my remaining upper teeth yanked outta my skull and now have a nice new full upper denture, to the tune of about $3,600. (Ouch, in more ways than one.) Our insurance coverage maxed out at barely a third of that, so it's time to sell some stuff. Yeah, yeah... I know... you didn't wanna hear the personal details about my teeth (or lack thereof). You wanna hear about my coins. Cool! That's what we're here to talk about!

I started this collection in December of last year, so really I've only been a Barber half collector for about ten months. But in that time, I made some good headway. I tried finding VG to Fine coins with that nice original look, where possible. I managed to get a few semi-keys and all of the later Philadelphia key dates from the 'teens.

My asking prices below are based on current Numismedia trend prices. To extrapolate VG10 prices, I merely split the difference between VG8 and F12. If this seems "off" to you in places, then hey- nothing's set in stone, here- just make me an offer. Where there's a little bit of "wiggle room", we can perhaps settle on a price that makes both of us happy.

ALL PRICES HERE ARE POSTPAID.

Most if not all of these images are scans- not photographs.
A scanner tends to "flatten out" luster on coins, but of course that isn't an issue with pieces in this grade. For the most part, I'll say for once that my scans are fairly accurate here. However, in a few cases, reflections from the scanner may have exaggerated a tiny hairline or two that might otherwise be nearly invisible in hand. (It does that sometimes.)

Here are the PCGS/Photograde benchmark standards for Barber half grades.

Am I sorry to be breaking up this set before finishing it? Well, yeah- a little bit. But I had fun with it, and I'm usually more of a type set collector than a "date-and-mint" kinda guy, anyway. This was a little of a departure for me, but very educational. I have no regrets.

    Robertson,

I wish I had known you were selling your set,
I just started another Dansco set - F12-15 and
I could have used most of your set... oh well...
a day late... and a dollar short.
