TalerUniverse aims to serve both as a private collection showcase and a growing reference resource for collectors, researchers, and students of early-modern European coinage.
At some point collectors will appreciate how difficult nice examples are to obtain- well done. I think the 1793 might be my favorite- at least at this moment in time until I look at them again

Thank you all for your comments. It was an interesting journey so far. Watching myself evolve as a numismatist from when I just started in 2005, to selecting 8 reales as a subject of collecting, to narrowing it down to War of Independence, to continuously refine the non-primary 8 reales collection with the look and feel that I learned to appreciate.
This forum has been essential in my collecting and growing and I just wanted to say you guys rock! I'm glad we can share our numismatic passions with others. Thank you PCGS and all individual posters.
An oft under appreciated side benefit to forming a specialized collection, besides the singular satisfaction it entails, is the expertise acquired in the process. For example, if I were to venture into the same collectable category, I would most surely seek out your advice beforehand.

But I must ask... What is the date on the first one? That 3rd digit sure is odd. Backwards/warped 2?
<< <i>Very nice! I like the 1780 a lot.

Thanks! The pillar is 1759. It looks odd, but that's how "5" was styled on Mexico pillar series.
